Our Story

In modern marketing, a perfect understanding of customers is the key to success. However, traditional customer research through interviews and surveys is often biased, and new approaches such as neuromarketing experiments are often costly and time-consuming.

At Markit.ai, we believe that there must be an unbiased, fast, yet low-cost way of understanding customers. We are obsessively passionate about it, and have brainstormed and tried many potential solutions.

We use multiple machine learning algorithms to predict customers’ memorability, emotional response, and attention distrbution when they first see the image.

All of our predictions are ~90% accurate by comparing prediction on images outside the training datasets to the ground truth.

  • All of our prediction models are trained based on deep learning that learn the visual features from the datasets until they can make accurate predictions on images not included in the training datasets.
  • Imagine a child is learning to distinguish dogs and cats. The child points to one and says, ‘cat!’. The child’s parent immediately provides feedback: ‘Right’ or ‘No, that’s a dog.” After enough feedback, the child eventually forms an internal mental model of how to label different objects in the world.
  • We use the state of art datasets created by multiple research institutions including MIT and Facebook to test our models. Our models are trained on approximately 54000 images from eye tracking, emotional response, or memorbility studies.
